Woman Files New DePuy Hip Implant Lawsuit Over Metallosis Injury

A Louisiana woman recently filed a DePuy hip implant lawsuit against the medical device manufacturer, alleging serious injuries caused by a defective device.

The plaintiff, Margaret P., was implanted with a DePuy ASR hip implant in December 2007. Unfortunately, in the following years, Margaret says, she began experiencing severe complications. By July 2017, Margaret suffered from a condition known as metallosis, a kind of metal poisoning caused by the metals of the hip implant rubbing together.

Margaret claims she was left with excessive amounts of chromium and cobalt in her blood. These injuries led to medical bills, wage loss, and other expenses, as well as emotional distress, she says. Later, Margaret learned that DePuy ASR hip implant devices had been recalled due to metal-on-metal defects.
